problem with Insight

I have a problem with Insight on a Linux system, when downloading to an arm target via remote/serial: when downloading a .data section of more than a few bytes, it runs into error and refuses to download it. This problem is not present when using Insight on Cygwin on a Windows system. Any sugestion/solution? I would be grateful if you have any.
