Hi all (anyone left on ups-users),
I recently upgraded my workstation to FreeBSD 8.1 and it looks like there
are some issues with ups. I had it working nicely with 7.X.
Firstly, I had the "UAREA desupported by OS" problem, which I fixed by
using code out of procstat(8). However, the reason that was triggered at
all was due to SIGSEGV and SIGBUS being received by the debugged app
(which runs run under gdb or non-debug).
I think the issue could be that gcc changed version from 3.4.X to 4.2.1
at some point. If that's so, perhaps the problem also exists on newer
linux boxes. Does anyone have ups working with gcc 4, or anyone (Bakul?)
experimented on FreeBSD 8 (/i386 only at this stage)?
