Sure, it's quite easy to make releases now it's all scripted. Any
objections to releasing the current master?

I see there are some changes on Stephen's branch. Should they be
merged? The thumbnail patch seems to duplicate a lot of the code in
pixmap_background_thumb() into pixmap_try_thumb(). Can we just reuse
the original function?
