Changing pinboard icon size

I am trying to change the default pinboard icon size in Rox - but first 
I am having troubles compiling.

Configure gives me the following error:


checking that pkg-config runs... yes
checking that sm (version >= 1) is installed... no
configure: error: Package is not installed


Exactly what is package "sm" ?
