Templates creation & copying contents of symlinks

Hi,

Recently I installed Linux and ROX on yet another machine, and started to automate initial ROX user configuration, basically creating symlinks to a base config.

But when user templates are symlinks to the real files, using those templates just creates symlinks, not copies of file contents, which obviously doesn't make sense in this context.

Patching the source would be easy if action_copy() supported copying the contents of symlinks, but it doesn't. What about adding that support? Wouldn't it be useful besides solving the templates problem explained above? What about a "copy symlink contents" default option with "yes", "no" and "ask" choices? And maybe an option to handle the non-existant symlink target case with "symlink", "skip", "create empty file" and "ask" choices?

Btw, what about remembering the "Relative link" setting in the symlink creation box between invocations? It's a pain to unselect it again and again when all you need is absolute symlinking.

Tell me what you think. I may start coding then.

Cheers,

Bernard.
