I wonder if we should stop worrying about this? We can always supply a new
enough version though Zero Install for people on older systems. Then we
could develop against whatever version had the features we needed.

Distributions shouldn't care, because they only add new ROX releases to their
current version (which would already have the new libraries).

The only downside is if you're on an old distribution with, say GLib
2.4, and running
a version of ROX-Filer that needs GLib 2.12. Then you'll end up with two copies
of GLib in memory, which will waste a few 100 K.
