For ppl that are interested, the 'script' of Bjorn was a great start to do
exactly what i was after... I recorded a small video of what is now
possible with some feature branches:

I would say the gridlock script is especially interesting on bigger
monitors like a 34 ultra wide... or even a normal 4K screen
