xfce4-session doesn't run under WSL2

I asked a question on the xfce4 desktop forum about getting
xfce4-session to run under WSL2 (Microsoft Windows Subsystem for
Linux); I was able to get it to work about 18 months ago, but it
doesn't work now.

Can anyone offer me suggestions to get it to work again >
