Hey there, as Peter mentioned, I'm a bit concerned about the current status of xfce- polkit. It seems that nowadays a Linux Xfce desktop really needs a polkit agent for privilege granting (here I'm still using the quite old and unmaintained GNOME 2 agent). I don't think there's a need for each desktop to have their own agent, and it would certainly be possible to have some work sharing here. For Debian Trixie (which is just around the corner) we were a bit in a rush and added mate-polkit (because it's more mature and maintained) but I'm quite happy to revisit this decision to something else. If someone would be able to give a hand to Natanael on the upstream maintenance (inside the Xfce project, our outside) it'd be really nice and I would be able to try switching to it for Forky (next Debian after Trixie). If not I guess we'll stick with mate-polkit.
