Unfortunately both hal-device-manager and gnome-volume-manager say hald is not running. hal-device-manager tells me Could not get device list. Make sure hald is running! And gnome-volume-manager says libhal.c 767 : org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply raised "No reply within specified time" ** (gnome-volume-manager:10537): WARNING **: manager.c/1205: seems that HAL is not running but hald is running: hal 5926 1 1 08:02 ? 00:07:33 /usr/sbin/hald --drop-privileges What am I doing wrong?
