Hi I don't know if this will help, however I found that under Irix 6.5.18 (possibly others) that if the distributed.net executable was started by root (from /etc/inittab in my case) that no work was done by the client, despite it remaining loaded in memory. However if I ran the client under a user account it ran quite normally. I assumed that this was due to Irix trying to protect the system from what it viewed as a run-away process but I have never verified this.
