I'm of the same mind as John as the whole purpose of raid racks and multiple power supplies is for other hardware to take over the load when one of the items fails. That isn't happening anymore apparently. The other item is that when you start getting into proprietary hardware that can't utilize common off the shelf replacement hardware then that is a major negative for that particular proprietary hardware as it cannot be easily and rapidly replaced. A two week outtage (which is what this is shaping up to be) is a bit much for a power supply failure really. And I'd also be willing to chip in some bucks if the project were to go for replacing the stats server.
