trouble with mailing list manager not liking /usr/bin/vacation

I'm sure this is off topic, but the cdb mailing list manager is
complaining that it's getting bounce messages.  It's actually
getting a standard message from /usr/bin/vacation.  /usr/bin/vacation
is careful to send this message only once per user per 15 days,
but apparently the cdb list sends each message from a different
address, so it gets a message from /usr/bin/vacation every single time.

Does anybody know enough mailing-list jujitsu to convince the mailing-list
software that these messages are OK?  Or perhaps I have a broken
/usr/bin/vacation and should ask my sysadmins to install a better one?
