ERR: Authentication Failure :-(

Hiya !

I was wondering if someone would kindly give me some guidelines to solve a
minor problem? I created directories in /home usind "maildirmake name",
followed by doing a chown name.name on cur/, tmp/ and new/. The users were
then addes in passwd using the adduser command (debian linux). Anyway, the
problem is, that I telnet to port 110, send my user and pass information,
and it gives me an authentication failure. Unfortunatly my logs for
qmail-pop3d don't tell anything. I used the Life With Qmail manual to
install everything from scratch, and maybe a pointer to the problem can be
that qmail-smtpd can't find the mailboxes :-( Ugh... Hewp Pwease ?
