I've been hoping this would happen for about Four years.

I'm tired of people screwing around with locations to   'fit'  their directory 
structure.

For the people that say this is another system...so what.  We have tried the 
present systems (myself) for almost Eight years now.  There is no consensus 
or movement to a standard system.
I never understood why mail would be in /var/  when, as a user, you have a 
perfectly good /home/ directory.  Of course, Dan fixed that.

Dan has produced secure (non-buffer overflow) software, starting with qmail.  
It has stood the test of time.  He has produced replacement's for inetd 
(ucspi-tcp), Damontools (also replaces syslog), dnscache, then tinydns, 
publicfile etc..etc..  Gerrat and others have used his tools and philosphy to 
produce other tools and programs.
A djblinux AND djbBSD would be great.
I've waited for DJB's other programs to become /package compliant. Hopefully, 
qmail v2 and other updates will be in the /package format.
 I don't do RPM's or 'ports', always build per DJB's instructions as most of 
us (I am sure) do.

Think about it...

Most of us have already abandoned the RPM/port/apt-get systems for DJBware and 
the standard, documented, install procedure.
The people that haven't would probably like a better /package (pun intended 
system).

My vote is to get a djbOS going where other people can test, try, explore it.  
A cd-rom and ftp install would be great.
