Well, ed is an editor, like emacs, vi, joe, etc. As there are a lot
of editors, cf. Debian, I suggest the name prefix editor/.

Well on my system will be no /bin or /usr/bin then there cannot be any
war.

What would you prefer?

a) A symlink from /usr/bin/ed to /package/editor/ed-spi/command-unregistered/ed ?

b) The name gnu-ed-spi and gnu-red-spi ? (Nobody will use them.)

c) Or a package named spalternatives that symlinks command ed to
/package/editor/ed-spi/command-unregistered/ed, or
/package/editor/sun-ed-spi/command-unregistered/ed, etc?

Well, my preference is (c) as I indicated in my request. But the package
spalternatives does not exist yet AND it will fill up /command as well.
