lynx limiting access? I know that other webbrowser do not allow
all possible port numbers in request for security reasons. So one
cannot abuse the webbrowser for some attacks. E.g. mozilla will
not let you use an URL like http://some.host:25/

Given this information I would look for the error in lynx and
not in publicfile.
