Oh, yeah, and Rediff's member website runs a modified version of
publicfile.  It takes the top-level directory, hashes it into the full
pathname to the user's directory, and rewrites the internal pathname.
It also enforces a maximum number of visits, and can enforce a "no
off-site images" policy.
