I typically stick this as a precondition in the run script; if a service that the service requires is "not ready", then the run script either loops or terminates (at which point it's restarted by supervise). The trick is determining what "ready" is - for some processes, it can be just a simple ps or svstat; for other more complex ones (e.g. postgres or oracle databases) the process running alone isn't enough as the database may be in a recovering state - you might have to actually fire off an SQL session to see if you can connect to the database. It all depends. -- Regards, Daryl Tester "Bad kitty. Stop plotting evil." -- http://www.pvponline.com/article/3328/sun-may-20
