Daemontools keeps restarting w/ stdout

There is no mailing list for daemon tools, so I thought I'd post this here:

I am having some trouble running a program (ScribeServer) via Daemontools. If I don't redirect STDOUT to a file, daemon tools will keep restarting the program over and over again. I'm not sure why this is happening as it should be fine according to the daemontools FAQ. I also tried setting up a logger w/ daemon tools using multilog but experienced the same programs. Everything works great if I execute /services/scribed/run directly.

This is my daemonstools run file:

#!/bin/sh
exec /usr/local/bin/scribed /vm/scribed/scribed.conf

It will only run if I change it to this:

#!/bin/sh
exec /usr/local/bin/scribed /vm/scribed/scribed.conf 1>/dev/null
