Rather  than  restarting  svscan,  one could  remove  the  symlink  from
/service, svc -dx /path/to/service and then relink it into /service. The
same can  be done  even if the  service name in  /service is  actually a
directly  by simply  moving the  directory  somewhere else  on the  same
filesystem.
