svscanboot and environment variables

Hi there,

I'm successfully using the latest daemontools version on an AIX 5.2 system.
Since AIX is an /etc/inittab based system, the install process created an
entry in /etc/inittab to automatically invoke svscanboot. As documented,
svscanboot removes all environment variables, and only sets PATH.

Since I'd like to keep all environment variables that are defined at the
time svscanboot is started, I'm thinking about using svscan directly.
The documentation states that svscanboot runs the pipeline "svscan /service
2>&1 | readproctitle service errors: ....." with 400 dots.

If I want to keep the readproctitle functionality, is it enough to include
the quoted command in /etc/inittab (providing pipes work there)?
