synopsis 0.5 is *really* old now, and a lot of things have improved
since. Can I convince you somehow to retry the current snapshot ?

Let's try to track down the exact problem(s) and see whether we can
solve them (please subscribe to the bug tracker and create a bug
report, then we can follow up there).

What platform(s) are you trying to compile / run synopsis on ?
(OS, distro, python version, compiler, etc., etc.)
