I am not used to the SVN, and can be of no help

The Hook Scripts, post-commit that is suppose to be from
tools/hooks-scripts, that is mailer.py and commit-email.pl

if no too hard, removed the diff part and add the line that is sent to
http://synopsis.fresco.org/changelog.rss

normal email client will only need to click on the URL part to have
access to the diff of the changes, which is not a big slow down.

Obviously, it will require an lived internet connection to see it.
