I'm still failing to understand what this discussion is all about. What
is being represented ? What transformations are being performed ? Only
answers to these questions can tell whether the current representations
are suitable or not.
You are right in that representations are passive. It's the processors
operating on them that do all the work. The currently supported representations
are here: http://synopsis.fresco.org/docs/Tutorial/ir.html
Only the ones in the Synopsis Python package can be stored / restored
(using, as mentioned earlier, the python pickle protocol).
Hopefully the others from the C++ API will be complete and stable enough
in not too distant a future, too.
