I'm using IDEA for quite a while now and for me it is the best Java IDE out there. I like it because it fun to use, suits my style of programming (easy programming by intention, the best refactoring I have ever seen, etc.) and generates clean java without any "magic code". And that's the main reason why I will NEVER use the GUI designer of IDEA: there will be a lot of "magic code" and you have to include some runtime library form IntelliJ in your application. SwixML works perfectly with XML editing in IDEA, so no need to switch to an other application for generating SwixML GUIs (maybe I will change my mind when Franklin finally arrives - Wolf do you hear me?). - Lutz > Does anyone have thoughts on Franklin/SwixML vs. the new GUI designer in Intellij IDEA 4? My understanding is IDEAs GUI designer will need a pretty substantial jar to go along with your apps. What > about Franklin (someday) + SwixML instead? Are there benifits I am missing to IDEAs approach? > -Paul > _______________________________________________ > Forum mailing list > [email protected] > http://carlsbadcubes.com/mailman/listinfo/forum_carlsbadcubes.com
