I strongly agree on that. Both the major performance improvements from 
1.3 to 1.4 took place in reflection and swing. And both is used in 
swixml. Reflection as an implementation detail and swing for the obvious 
reason.

I also may point out the support of JRE 1.3 drops. There are thread 
issues on newer redhat versions the 1.4 version of the JRE does not have.
