yes jdom is needed.  (otherwise it wouldn't be telling you so)
jdom comes with the swixml download (it's in the lib folder) so you 
already have it.

jdom is not part of the java sdk.  w3c.dom is

as for the smallest I don't think there's really much choice in size.
