don't background images require a subcomponent and setting the top one 
to not be opaque?
if so, that sounds more like a job for the program than swixml as 
swixml tries to be fore about straight object instantiation rather than 
functional programming like that.

if you want an XUL for things like that I think Jelly might be a better 
choice... I guess it depends on how extensive you want the object 
customizations to be *shrug*
