Adam, I think you did not offend anyone and nothing here is written in stone. The core swing engine looks at the XUL descriptor document (your xml file if you want) for the GUI layout definition and not so much for the interactive part or for data which is suppose to be kept in models. The borders are getting blurry however with Actions and ActionListeners and Swixml2.0 is also going to provide static data models for ComboBoxes etc. I guess what I saying is, let's hear your ideas.
