XAML, JNDC, etc

Hey all,

I am wondering with the MS based XAML format for the
upcoming (long ways away) Longhorn os, and Java's JNDC
project which will use xml descriptors to describe UI
components (I think that is the project), if ya'll are
looking at getting involved, maybe looking to try to
standardize some aspects of swixml. IT seems to me
that while swixml is pretty slick, there could be a
road ahead where a UI is completely drawn using XML
data to describe every aspect of it. I don't know
about images and such, and I am referring to not just
Swing, but applets, web pages (think JSF), and so
forth.

It seems to me that being able to use a single
"standardized" format to define how a screen should
look, xml being the leading format to do this in, that
it should not be too hard to get various UIs,
including OS level, applications, web, pdas, etc to
all conform to using this format to generate UIs.

Anything on the back burner along these lines?
