enable nic support on bochs

hi:

  I  need one network card working on my bochs , and I have read the
bochrc on bochs' website , which tellls I should add configuration
like this：
      e1000: enabled=1, mac=52:54:00:12:34:56, ethmod=slirp,
script=/usr/local/bin/slirp

then I startup bochs , note that it report panic ：option plugin
'e1000' not found .

So what is lost for my configuration ? Does it need I enable some
features when compiling?
