Why did you choose 2.6.2 and not recent release ?

Subject: [Bochs-developers] Building Bochs 2.6.2 using GCC 3.4.6

Hello!
Has Bochs been tested to build properly on any distribution which is still
using the 3.4.6 release of GCC?

For example I can use the build scripts from SlackBuild on 14.1-64 to build
a working release. It even let me boot a boot floppy for Slackware's
zipslack configuration for 11.0 on an external disk, in this case a Compact
Flash card which is labeled as being 1 gigabyte in size, and has that
zipslack file unzipped on it.

But one of the same reasons why I'm interested in trying to make that raw
partition boot example work is regarding to one individuals work during the
same time period as the kernel on DLX Linux, It uses the
1.3.12 kernel and a group of individuals used that source together with the
code for Mach to bring up a hybrid kernel. I've gotten it to work before
using hardware. But I want to continue these studies and using the way Bochs
works. And of course DLX Linux is a full distribution within reason.
