Good point. Eliminating handguns, efficiently or not, does not 
eliminate murder, only handgun murder. Eliminating Hercules does not 
eliminate piracy. To eliminate software piracy, eliminate all 
computers. As for P/390s, there is plenty of licensed software which 
can be pirated and run on one, ALS2 or no ALS2. I have worked for 
some pretty large outfits who pirate software on a regular basis. 
What has this to do with the machines they run this software on? 
I'll tell you: absolutely nothing.

Folks, see how Payne argues... Take a case in point. He says, over 
and over, that all Hercules users are pirates. Then, when it suits 
him, he denys that emphatically, despite the continued existence of 
his posts to the contrary. Then, when I call him on it, he goes 
back to calling all of us pirates. 

The man has an axe to grind; this is as clear as can be. What he's 
grinding it for, however, is still a mystery. My hunch remains that 
it has something to do with his 
finances. He's not the white knight, protecting poor, defenseless 
IBM.  He sees Hercules as a threat, somehow, to his own bank 
account.  How this can be, I can't imagine, and If I'm correct, I'm 
sure that he's wrong.
