that the question is, did Fundamental Software get any NDA documentation
from IBM  to assist in
developing FLEX, or just find talented individuals to gen up the
emulation, and
reverse engineer the IBM platform as a way to get a compatable product.
Of course an NDA
probably precludes an answer and this is not a request for one, since it
should not be on the
record.

I don't think that patents are anything but fodder for lawyers, and
seldom have any information
of an engineering nature to help with duplicating a process.  Exceptions
being ones which have
at the crux of their patents a "key" ingredient.

Ibm mainframe systems don't have anything, and apparently have what is
needed in the POO for
each architecture to implement them.
