As things stand now, I don't believe that
 Fun.Soft. is hurting from Hercules:

 1. I may soon get a Flex-ES system because I
have demonstrated that MVS 3.8j will run in
Hercules. i.e. Without Hercules, we would
keep an outdated and unbalanced 9672 for
 several more years.

 2. Old software and manuals that we have dug
up were needed by Flex early users. We may be
helping Flex users? There can be other
 information exchange. Perhaps, Fun.Soft will
 someday support HET and CCKD?

If someone asks IBM to license software to
Hercules users, it shouldn't hurt Fun.Soft.:

 1. Hercules is great for a hobby, but changes
to fast with too many problems to be used for
my system. I have too many online users to
be able to afford much down time. It might
be different for some batch only shops?

 2. There are no Hercules certified machines.
i.e. x232 and x250 are the only certified
 machines for 8MIPS for Fles-ES for OS/390
( none for zOS ). Both machines are out of
production. Processors for them are not
cheap or easy to find. Who will certify a
PC for Hercules and will it be obsolete
 before the IBM tests run?
