I don't know if Hercules will build on OS/2 these days, but I do know that
Linux will run on the P/390's 390 processor (with a little low magic), and
have no reason to believe that Hercules wouldn't run there. How quickly it
would run is another matter entirely. I wouldn't dream of trying 64-bit mode
in that configuration - it's been reported that Hercules under Linux under
VM on a Multiprise 3000 model H70 will run 64-bit mode OSes, but *slowly*.

BTDTGTTS.

Interesting question. I'm not sure there is a clear answer, either: while
OS/390 is licensed to a piece of hardware, is the piece of hardware it's
licensed to the P/390 processor board (which, AFAIK, has no serial number)
or is it the PC Server 500 as a whole (which does)? I would expect it's the
latte, in which case running it on that box would most likely be licensed.

IANAL in the US, however, never mind the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I would
suggest having a Saudi lawyer read the license agreement published in that
country (which may or may not be the same as the one published in the US)
before depending absolutely on this being licensed. There's also the issue
of support, although tha's soon to become a non-issue, as IBM is dropping
support for 2.10 sometime in 2004, IIRC.
