Perhaps you can provide evidence to the contrary, but in my own experience
those who bother to trim their posts are not usually top posters.

Or put another way, those who get into the habit of trimming their posts
(i.e. removing those parts of the other person's post they don't wish to
comment on leaving only those portions they *DO* wish to comment on) revert
to properly bottom posting as a natural consequence.
