Microsoft apparently had interests in both the T3 and TurboHercules 
businesses.  Given that both T3 and Turboherc have acted similarly, 
perhaps there has been some peace-pipe understanding between Microsoft 
and IBM which led to this result.  Otherwise, given the various court 
rulings in the recently concluded Zprime case interpreting IBM's license 
clauses, rulings on user rights which potentially are in conflict with 
license interpretations held by some in the emulator community,  perhaps 
there was some recognition that it would be best to leverage a 
withdrawal in exchange for a stand-still on possible future litigation. 
   A further possibility:  some incentive other than something 
threatening may have been forthcoming from IBM.   Possibly too a 
combination of all of those.

Roger would be the one to clarify, if he is at liberty to do so.
