The P390 is an odd beast. There is a board with the 390 CPU and MEMORY that sits in a server. Mine is Microchannel but PCI versions exist. They can go in a RS/6000 or selected (they are a bit picky) "PC" server. There are OS/2 (and AIX) programs that provide the interface between the PC side and the P390. So the 3270 support works in a similar way to Hercules. You configure a port and connect to it via TN3270 There are also programs that interface DASD and AWS tape files to the P390. > Note that I used bz2 compression too. > Shall I upload another version with > zlib compression? I have dumped the 3390 disk to tape, but can't get upstairs to the P390 to try a restore.... > BFN. Paul. > Dave
