I agree (who am I not to agree with the master of GUI :-) )

Of course. The default behavior of Hercules Studio is to use the system default font, font size, etc. In a "normal" Linux system, the same problem should be exhibited even when opening a plain text document in "Text Editor" app. But what is "normal" Linux? It has so many layers making up the GUI, from the underlying display server (X vs. Wayland) to the font rendering engine (fontconfig), the display manager (Gnome vs. KDE ), and finally the toolkit itself (Qt in Hercules Studio).
Any untested combination of the above tools can create such unexpected behavior, that's why I made this small change. I.e., to help in such unusual cases. A general rule I myself try to follow is to use one of the big Linux distributions. The chances for such discrepancies is not zero there, but it is rare.
Anyway, it nice to see that there are still people using Hercules Studio after so many years. Just remember to use the Hercules Studio support group at https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/hercstudio/conversations/messages https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/hercstudio/conversations/messages .
