Standalone Performance test?

Does anyone out there have any type of standalone instruction and/or I/O performance test?

Or does anyone have a non-standalone test that they could convert into a standalone test for me?

I know there are some instruction timing tests out there, but they all seem to be guest O/S specific, only running under e.g. MVS. I'm looking for something that doesn't require any type of operating system at all. Something that measures raw performance.

Right now I'm only interested in instruction performance, but having one that also measures I/O performance as well would be nice, but is NOT a requirement at this time.

I'd really rather not have to try and write one myself. I'd rather take one that's already written which does a good job of accurately measuring actual performance and simply convert it into a stand-alone test.

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks.
