Dear Mike,

I have already tried to attach sdres1 and sdsys1 to the command line version of Hercules and ipl, with their corresponding suffix as device number. It was the same wait code. Also, I have ran a trace on the sdsys1 from the Hercules right click menu and I can see a lot of sys1.nucleus and sys1.iodf being displayed.
After I start Hercules, I manually change the loadparm using loadparm command etc, I have tried many different combinations, including the ones which you have mentioned. 
No help. I must end here because my family needs me to move some furniture.
