 I have followed the well written and detailed instructions of Brian ( and Bote )  and so far I have managed to get ping between the two machines working. 
  From Z to Win
 

 CS V1R13: Pinging host 192.168.0.122
Ping #1 response took 0.004 seconds.


 From Win to Z
 

 Pinging 192.168.0.120 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 192.168.0.120: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.0.120: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.0.120: bytes=32 time=2ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.0.120: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=64
 

 Which is great. However, this is all that is working. Ping to 192.168.0.1 is timing out.

 I have no SYS1/USER/ADCD HLQ datasets with TCPPARMS to contain the required members. I do have one dataset present (  ADCD.TCPIP.DATA ) which when I try to browse I get a " Data set not found " error. 
 

 However, the progress is huge and I thank the replier for the help. I am a little bit worried about what steps to take next, as windows routing commands or networking are by far my least strong points, as I would like to access the 3270 terminal directly from the internet.
