z/OS V2.3 has worked under Hercules for about 2 years now.  There are some caveats, you have to use hyperion (V4), and you have to set up the new feature code settings of Hyperion, plus you need to make sure that your CPU device type in your emulator is one that supports z/OS 2.3, (so that is a BC12 or newer).
 

 It's not really a big deal to make all fo the changes and they are all outlined previously on this list.
