I don't know if it would help or not, but I wrote a program that I haven't used in over 30 years called 3740util. It read and wrote 8" floppy drives for IBM 370. It ran on CP/M-80/86 with a disk controller. It is written in C for a Compupro Disk Controller. Anyway, if you are interested in it. Just let me know. I modified it to write to 5 1/4" drives when I moved from CP/M to MSDOS. Again, that works with a Compupro Disk 1 controller which used an Intel Disk Controller chip. Anyway, just let me know if you are interested. I used 3740util to work on CICS programs when I was using a service bureau. I did my editing on my CP/M machine at that time.
