SDL 4.2 support for envronment variables in script files?

Does the latest SDL Hyperion release (7/8/19) support environment variables in script files like ipl,rc (e.g. ${VARIABLE:=default}) ?
 

 I believe it already supports them in *.cnf files, but please correct me if I am mistaken about that.
