If a move is being planned then I’d recommend looking at Groups.io. (https://groups.io/) Many other Y! groups have migrated there and the lead developer was one of the originators of Y! groups before it went to pot. A transfer facility is also provided to move across all Y! details to the new groups. Groups.io provides easy filtering options so you can control the mail you receive. You can also use the online website without being bombarded by adverts. If you are into Apps, then they are being developed for Android and iOS, but in the meantime, the mobile version of the website is good too. Sounds like we need to have an active discussion on this. We have talked about moving from Yahoo on a number of occasions. I would think that the first point would be to ask how important it is to have the files section on the same site as the discussion board. Personally I would like to see them at the same place. Q1. Same place or different? Q2. Use a publicly available site or one run by one of our members? I do not know of any publicly available sites but I am sure they exist. Q3. If run by one of our own, is there a preference on what software to use? So nice of them to give us some notice https://help.yahoo.com/kb/groups/SLN31010.html?impressions=true Understand what's changing in Yahoo Groups Yahoo has made the decision to no longer allow users to upload content to the Yahoo Groups site. Beginning October 21, you won't be able to upload any more content to the site, and as of December 14 all previously posted content on the site will be permanently removed. You'll have until that date to save anything you've uploaded. Dave Wade G4UGM & EA7KAE
