I agree with Harold. here, not likely to be a consensus among so many different points of view from so many locations around the world.
That said, I think the move to groups.io is the right thing to do *for now*, and we can discuss more radical concepts for the groups over there.
My USD$0.02 worth.

I realize some of the groups do not have active owners who would be
expected to make such a decision.
Just let us know what we are going to do and if we need to cease using
the Yahoo group while it is being moved and when to cease its use.
Just my $.02 worth, assuming it is even of that much value.
