Hi Patrick,

Thanks for getting back...

The problem is now resolved.. the initial install had failed so there was no executable for Hercules, just the gui. My fault I’m afraid!

I’m going to enjoy myself with it for a few days, but if I’m happy with it (and it certainly looks brilliant).. is it possible to pay for a non trial copy, if so how and what is the cost.

The hercules-390 support forum is for Hercules support, not HercGUI support.. If the problem is with HercGUI, you should contact SoftDevLabs support for help with HercGUI. If the problem is with Hercules, then depending on what mainframe guest you are trying to run under Hercules (MVS, VM/370, etc) this MIGHT be the correct forum.

With that in mind, we need to first determine where the problem lies: with Hercules or with HercGUI. The easiest way to determine that is to try starting Hercules WITHOUT using HercGUI.

If Hercules starts and run okay when you do that (but does not when using HercGUI), then the problem is with HercGUI. Contact SoftDevLabs support for help.

If Hercules does NOT start and run okay by itself (i.e. WITHOUT using HercGUI), then the problem is likely with Hercules and this forum MIGHT be the correct place to ask for help (depending on the symptoms and the mainframe guest you are trying to run).

So the big question is: does Hercules start and run okay WITHOUT using HercGUI?
